'If theres something the British do best, its taking everyday life and extracting something special from it..' (Extracting from the ES)
Ive always been of the opinion that the average joe has often got a lot more to say for themselves than the so called celebrity..
There are a lot of ordinary people with extraordinary stories..
Id much rather hang with the painters and decorators.. so to speak.
Creating a legacy
I love a good list, specially a chistmas list. So far Ive got a present list and a booze list.. The present wish list consists of wallabees, fracaps, gazelles and a pair of diadoras, which confirms my mild footwear obsession..
The booze list a thing of beauty
(A collaborative effort)
3 bottles of port
6 bottles of nyetimber
3 cases of bonds tipple
Bottle of tanq ten
Case of mixers
One bottle Aperol
And a black cow vodka
Ho ! Ho ! Ho !
Quote of the day:
"A desire to leave a mark upon the world is part of human nature. Some people achieve this through their children, others through their work or art, a business or an altruistic act... I am deeply aware of the importance of creating a legacy."

Baby on board
Its funny what you observe on the tube, in the course of a day it the only time I'm forced to stand and stare.. Meaning I tend to take a lot more in.. Things that stand out are... Jumpers get stupider at this time of year and so do hats.. And earphones seem to be the only piece of technology going in the opposite direction of streamlined.. Also started to notice more of these cute little 'baby on board' badges girls are wearing recenty.. Which obviously is code for give me your fucking seat !

It's a Goose !
Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat and so am I !
My runnings suffered recently I've never been the best outdoor runner, when the nights draw in and the temperature drops, seems to lose its appeal.. Im on the hunt for pools, substitute miles on the road for lengths in the pool..
I sampled the delights of Winter Wonderland last night.. Its nicely done but I've never been the biggest fan of organised fun.. And Im not sure i quite buy into the appeal of drinking pissy beer from a plastic stein in the Bavarian village.. Which incidentally is as about as authentically Bavarian as my living room.. Still a good time was had by all

You dont drink enough
Theres nothing quite like finishing a piece of work. Ive always been overly modest with my work, but sometimes I do something that gives me a brief wave of satisfaction and I give myself a little sneaky pat on the back, which keeps me doing what I'm doing..
I have this nagging feeling that things are unfinished at the minute, or worse not even started.. Time to get doing on something and run with it..
What was that T said, ' a wrong decision is better than indecision..?'
On the theme of quotes, ditty of the day goes to MG..
'Do you drink whiskey ?'
'I tend not to discriminate against any spirits..'

Ignorance is bliss
Realised today that there are a lot of ignorant people about, all too keen to voice their opinions on subjects they know nothing about. Im looking at you, middle class twats, with your bottle of red and your fish and chips, reminiscing about that time Hugo got pissed and moored his boat in the wrong Marina.
Nothing worse than a 'remember when' story !
Got me thinking.. Be interesting, be relevant and do your research, above all make sure theres method in your madness.

Got to be starting something...
I love my job. Strangers have become friends, and I look back on a year spent wondering where the next freelance job will come from, with a real sense of pride. I've learnt that hard work and a smile can open most doors.. And that working for someone else can be rewarding intellectually and financially.. but I strive for something original, that I can call mine, well ours if you chuck a creative partner into the mix. So here were are full of ideas, with no definite sense of direction, full of energy and ambition, confident that we have the potential to create something.. Something is a start..
